When
The first meeting of the founding members was held June 2005 in Tois-Rivieres. Following which, many meetings were held before the first general assembly for the inauguration of the Association Quebecoise de Danse Orientale, that was born the 12th of february 2006.
Why
The mission of the AQDO is to raise the standards of Oriental dance and to create a uniform teaching method to raise the level of dance in Quebec and to popularize this dance discipline.
How
1. By creating a repetoire of dance steps which belong to and make up oriental dance
2. To establish the degree of dificulty and create a percise training in the learning of these dance steps.
3. While creating a structured curriculum to teach those steps and movements.
4. To make this structure available to members and teachers.
5. By creating events and activities that encourage excellence in Oriental dance
6. By working to create an agreable working enviorment for professional dancers.
